6,000 BEES SWARM SUNBATHING COUPLEA sunbathing couple ran for cover when a huge swarm of bees landed in their neighbor's tree.Amanda Squires and her partner Les Mann were outside their home in Milton, Cambridgeshire, U.K., when around 6,000 bees flew over them. Neighbor Richard George called the local beekeepers' association which took the insects away. Squires told the Cambridge News, "It was a bit scary. We were sitting out in the garden and I heard a droning which I thought was an airplane in trouble. But it came over and it was a great big cloud of bees." Bob Lemon, chairman of the Cambridgeshire Beekeepers' Association, who collected the insects, said, "There must have been about 6,000 bees in the swarm, but they seemed to know me and I only got stung twice."
